                                ，形同姐弟，但是二民气里深处，均视对方为情人。亲政之前，慈禧为同治选皇后，慈禧早已内定慧妃为后，岂料同治一意孤行，自立皇后，
                                    
                                母子关系再增隔膜，今后种下祸根。慈禧贴身太监安德海一向垂涎桂莲美色，三番四次对桂莲不敬，终为同治知悉，联同小李子（梁思浩饰）
                                    
                                及徵贝勒（王书麒饰），将之怒打，安德海怀恨在心，在慈禧眼进步谗，逐桂莲出宫，然后加以淫虐。最初更将之卖落八大胡同当娼。机遇巧
                                    
                                合下练成床上必杀技『天龙八部』。大婚之夜，皇后承欢，可是在同治心中，始终视皇后为桂莲的化身。不多，传闻桂莲在八大胡同出现，同
                                    
                                治遂在徵贝勒放置下私出禁宫，寻觅桂莲着落。桂莲未能寻获，却为十丈软红所吸引，先被白俄罗斯女郎色诱上床，继而迷上妓女的超凡床上
                                    
                                技，不时以寻觅桂莲为藉口，收支八大胡同。在机遇偶合下，同治与桂莲重逢，二人彷如隔世。可是同治已染上梅毒，而且病发，桂莲为之悲
                                    
                                痛不已。另一方面，慈禧决以天花之症治疗同治，免得丑事传扬。同治临终前夜，命令暗杀安德海，以报桂莲之辱。成果安德海被诛，同治驾
                                    
                                崩，桂莲毁容殉帝，以示贞节。
