　　该片被誉为台湾“新电影”的开山之作。四位导演拍摄的四段故事（《小龙头》、《期望》、《跳蛙》、《报上名来》）组成了童年（小学）、少年（中学）、青年（大学）、成年（社会）四小我生期间（阶段）。                                    
                                每个阶段都有响应的梦幻天下的欢畅和现实天下的懊恼，只是随着年事增加，两者比例会有所变化。童年因某个好伙伴的离去而忧伤的小朋友（《小龙人》），成人成婚后的懊恼，能够会是因钥匙丢在房里只能穿着短裤在里面晃动（《报上名来》）。而青春期时被帅气强健的大门生佃农吸引了眼光的女孩（《期望》），进了大学未尝不会酿成另一种样子（《跳蛙》）。——人生布满多种能够，阶段的人生也没有黑白之分，只过就好。
