◎简　　介　
　　迈阿密狡猾的贩子卡特（科尔•豪瑟 Cole Hauser 饰）操纵自己的贸易公司做幌子，黑暗停止着国际洗钱活动。虽然FBI对他监视已久，可是卡特常日非常谨慎谨慎，几近与世隔断，所以一向没找到他的犯罪证据。FBI得悉了卡特非常喜好地下赛车，是当地飞车党的头子。为了获得他的 犯罪证据，只好找上一集分解功破获洛杉矶飞车党劫车案的布赖恩（保罗•沃克 Paul Walker 饰）重新出山。
　　布赖恩凭仗出色的车技、和飞车党一路停止犯罪活动很快就赢得了卡特的信赖，并和他成了好朋友。同时，另一位同为飞车党卧底的女警梦妮卡（伊娃•门德斯 Eva Mendes 饰）闯进了布赖恩的生活，布赖恩不知不觉中爱上了梦妮卡。梦妮卡已经获得了很多卡特的犯罪证据，可是她和卡特之间的暗昧关系却说不清道不明。
◎幕后揭秘
　　2001年的暑期票房《速度与豪情》可谓颤动了天下影坛，以区区3800万的本钱在全球狂赚两亿多美圆，但对于成功建造人尼尔·H·莫里兹(Neal H.Moritz)来说，这使人惊奇的票房佳绩却完全在他料想当中，由于影片中惊心动魄的情节、动力微弱的改装车、演员的火辣表演和流利而前卫的电影技术完全满足了追求刺激的观众。究竟证实，影片的成功不但仅表示在票房，哪怕是一向刻薄的影评人也赐与了影片很高的评价。
　　莫里兹说：“由于《速度与豪情》激起了激烈反应，所以我们晓得已经扣动了年轻观众的心弦，我相信我们的电影已经融入了陌头赛车文化，影迷由此发生共鸣，而且继续支持着《速度与豪情》的DVD及视频。我们晓得他们已经为续集做好预备，而我们必须对峙拍摄续集的条件，那就是自始自终的实在和前卫。”
　　在Teen Research Unlimited市场观察公司公布的观察成果中，《速度与豪情》是2002年春季和2003年春季美国青少年最爱好的电影，在影片成功的背后，是对青年文化的激烈渴求，庞大的商机也随之显现。
　　当导演约翰·辛格顿看到《速度与豪情》时，忽然发生了似曾了解的感受，他说：“那时我在想，天呐，我为什么没想到？我在洛杉矶南中部地域长大，那时辰我们成天都在玩陌头赛车。我们在街边把换上时兴轮毂和各类动力系统的车子一字排开，深夜里，引擎的轰鸣会沉没数条街区，我在《街坊的男孩子们》中就曾提到过。”
　　在辛格顿顺遂签约担纲本片导演后，他和建造人莫里兹及编剧都起头挖空心机的追求更能吸引眼球的新颖元素，终极，他们决议乞助于血管里活动着汽油的赛车迷。辛格顿回忆说：“我们在西海岸公布了招募广告，希望在影片中借用到更多的改装赛车。我们在互联网上登出告诉，让车主们到圣莫尼卡的一个停车场调集。那时告诉才公布36小时，我们估量大要会有100辆车参加。但是在调集当天，当地的交通梗塞很是严重，由于有700多辆车蜂拥而至，有些人是从西雅图特地赶来的。”终极，剧组选用了其中的192辆。
　　为了保证续集的速度与豪情，制片方再度请来了汽车改装大师克雷格·李伯曼(Craig Lieberman)作影片的技术顾问。和他一同工作的还有一批颇具天赋的特技车手，在众多经历老练的车手中，有些人曾介入《速度与豪情》的拍摄，其中著名女车手黛比·埃文斯(Debbie Evans)就凭仗该片而赢得了天下特技大奖。
　　举世影业将本片拍摄经费的大部分用于打造和获得片中出现的190辆酷车，除此之外，还有快要400辆车成为了片中的“姑且演员”。
　　在本片中，摄制组继续利用了在首部中利用到的特制摄影车，其中包括装有轿车外壳的卡车，不单具有高速性能，还可以拍摄下车手在高速过弯时身材的受力反应；装有摄影机、类似于沙滩车的“shift car”，最高时速可以跨越100英里，可以畴前后左右同步拍摄行驶中的车辆。别的，摄制组还利用了消除高速震动的“moro-cam”，由此显现出加倍稳定的图像。
　　片中共有15辆跑车成为“配角”，其中包括日产Skyline GTR、三菱EVO 7、1970年款Hemi道奇Challenger、1969年款Yenko Camaro、1998年款宝马M3、2003年款道奇蝰蛇、雪佛兰考维特、1994年款丰田Supra、1994年款马自达RX7、2001年款本田S2000和1993年款讴歌NSX。
　　片中跑车五花八门的表面大部分由建造设想师基思·布莱恩·伯恩斯(Keith Brian Burns)指导完成，从车漆色彩、车体部件，到轮毂和立体声扬声器全都敷衍了事。由于影片所用车辆众多，因而剧组聘用了40名全职机械师，除了保障车辆的一般利用之外，他们还挑选出一些废车场里的烧毁车辆，将其重新修复和喷涂，从而变废为宝
