　　安东尼奥尼《现代恋爱三部曲》之首，他起头探讨现代人在物资文化的高速成长下，感情和精神上却发生危机和隔膜的主题。影片上映时遭到很多非难，由于没有按常理交接失落者的着落，却在桑德罗和克劳迪娅身上大做文章，但这也是本片的最大特点。安东尼奥尼不是要营建一个侦破悬念故事，而首要在于细致显现中产阶级对于情欲和道德的怅惘挑选和不安宁性，人物心理描写尤其出色，镜头应用更是一绝，多处表示中产阶级的众生相和空镜头的适当配合，都显现出导演的功力。片中的孤岛意味着脚色的孤独和感情上的冷酷贫瘠，是影史的典范段落。不外影片略显冗杂，风格明显走文艺小资线路，不易为公共采取。女配角维蒂的表演冷艳敏感，是现代主义电影的代表女星，从本片起头她成为安东尼奥尼的御用女代言人。影片获得戛纳影展评审团大奖，是安东尼奥尼的奠基之作。
